(AP) — Wayne Chapman, a child rapist from Massachusetts who said he sexually assaulted as many as 100 victims, has died at a Connecticut nursing home, according to lawyers in the cases ... Chapman died of natural causes Wednesday evening, his Boston lawyer, Eric Tennen, said.

When the lawyer and I finally spoke, his reaction to my request for compassionate release was that this is not Boston, this is the South, where it is harder to make the case to let a black violator in particular back out on the street, sick or otherwise.
